Beautiful thinking.
One of the biggest problems in any addiction begins with the desire to use an addictive substance. Eating and drinking are terrible abusive substances. All of us who abuse them are basically filling a need.
We are convinced we are unworthy, inadequate, afraid, and lonely whenever we compare ourselves to others. We disconnected and isolated ourselves and we live in a world of fantasy.
Our problem is more than a physical hunger it is also not dealing with crazy thinking, self-defeating behavior, and screwed-up emotions. Food, alcohol, a smoke fill a void. A void that maybe will never be fully filled.
