Where Is the World Christian Outcry?

Where is the voice of Iman Feisal Abdul Rauf of Cordoba House, who is supposed to be tackling "tough issues in a practical way in order to build bridges between Muslims, Jews, Christians, and people of goodwill from all cultures and faith traditions." His words, not mine.
The world is watching history repeat itself and doing nothing once again with full knowledge of the devastation being inflicted on their cousins, if not brothers.
Shame on the Christian world for turning its back on their brothers! Shame on the Jews for not screaming out for the world to notice and act!

Where Is the World Christian Outcry?

·
Where is the world Christian outcry to stop the annihilation of ancient Christian populations in the Middle East?

Leading patriarchs of the Middle East meeting recently in Syria urged the world to help Christians survive in the region and said it was time to confront the hardline ideology of radical Islamists such as the Islamic State. At a summit convened in Damascus, the heads of five major eastern Christian churches of Antioch said the ideological well springs of hardline Islamism must be dried up by teaching, "a culture of openness, peace and freedom of belief. We call on everyone who claims to have an interest in our fate to help us to remain," they said in an appeal to the international community. "We call on you to take responsibility and to stop the wars in our lands."
The expansion of the ISIS in Iraq and Syria represents a big threat both to religious minorities and Muslims who do not share its radical vision of Islam. The ancient Christian community of Mosul fled Iraq last year when the jihadist group seized the city, fearing persecution.
Islamic State has this year abducted Christians in northeastern Syria, Kurds, and Yazidis in Iraq, and staged a mass killing of Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya. The meeting in the Old City of Damascus was attended by the five patriarchs of the churches of Antioch: the Antiochian Greek Catholic Church, the Syriac Orthodox Church, the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, the Syriac Catholic Church, and the Maronite Church. The Vatican's ambassador to Syria also attended.
"We are authentic (people) of this land, deeply rooted in its earth that was watered by the sweat and blood of our fathers and grandfathers, and we confirm more than ever that we are staying," their statement said.
Where are the Jewish voices, leading the charge if necessary? The world and we Jews, cannot feign ignorance this time -- as done when Jews were the persecuted in many lands in the past. We don't read about Jewish persecution in the Islamic Middle East today because that already happened decades ago. Fortunately somewhat before but absolutely after 1948, there was a place called Israel that welcomed those Jews who could escape and be resettled there. Why are there Arab refugees nearly 70 years later, still in squalid camps overseen by the United Nations? Testimony to the worthlessness of Arab brotherhood!
Judaism is not a monolithic faith--but we are a monolithic people!
And let's not forget Africa! Black Islamists kidnapping, enslaving, raping, executing African Christians in the Sub Sahara nations, Nigeria, Sudan, and elsewhere.
Where are the moderate, modern, western, American, Moslems joining the cry for tolerance and justice? Where is the voice of Iman Feisal Abdul Rauf of Cordoba House, who is supposed to be tackling "tough issues in a practical way in order to build bridges between Muslims, Jews, Christians, and people of goodwill from all cultures and faith traditions." His words, not mine.
Who is going to step up to save these Christians (and other minorities), who are now the focus of Islamic extremism in communities they inhabited for millennia? Do they need to be rescued to another place? That's not their choice. Or can the greater Christian and tolerant world defeat/contain their executioners and provide protection to them in their homes to live in peace.
The world is watching history repeat itself and doing nothing once again with full knowledge of the devastation being inflicted on their cousins, if not brothers.
Shame on the Christian world for turning its back on their brothers! Shame on the Jews for not screaming out for the world to notice and act!
